With this adventure, you can discover the Monarch butterflies and their migration to the mountains near Mexico’s Morelia, Michoacan. 

Many of the most beautiful colonial cities in Mexico have been called Pueblos Magicos or “magic towns”, due to their rich history, artistic culture, amazing architecture, and natural landscapes.   

  • Monarch butterfly (Danaus plexippus) is a milkweed butterfly (subfamily Danainae), of the Nymphalidae family. It is perhaps the best known of all North American butterflies. 
    Since the 19th century, it has been found in New Zealand, and in Australia, where it is called the wanderer. The monarch is famous for its southward migration and northward return in summer from Canada to Mexico and Baja California which spans the life of three to four generations of the butterfly.
  • Patzcuaro (“Pahtz-Kuah-Ro”) - is an inviting and authentic colonial town, that maintains its mix of indigenous heritage and colonial roots. It presents a completely genuine experience with all of its charm, color and personality intact.
  • Morelia - is the picturesque, state capital of Michoacan and one of the country’s most significant colonial cities.
    With an aristocratic and alluring feel, it holds exemplary Spanish Colonial architecture including pink stone, Baroque and neoclassical styles. the city remains well preserved, to keep the authentic historic charms along with modern amenities.

  • Copper Town - Santa Clara del Cobre is a small town that is famous for copper, (cobre means copper). The once active copper mines are now closed, but the beautiful tradition of copper crafting continues.
